Doodnik's Cafe
I just love the cafe/diner/cantina scenes in Star Wars, and Doodnik's Cafe is no exception! In case you're not sure what Doodnik's Cafe is, there is a picture of it in the forum header. Pretty cool looking place isn't it! Doodnik's has to be my favorite location in Droids. The four armed owner was actually one of the masters of R2 and 3PO for a short time, and according to a Hyperspace article, Dexter Jettster once worked here with Doodnik. It would be nice to see this place reappear in the EU sometime. I have never built a diorama before, but if Hasbro were ever to start making Droids figures again, I think I would have to build this place for them to hang out in!
Re: Doodnik's Cafe
I just made a Doodnik´s cafe with the lego design by me software.
I loaded it up to the lego hp today and ordered one together with a box.
I will post pictures when it arrives, here´s a screenshot made with the lego software:

Thanks!!!
Unfortunately it will take at least two weeks for Lego to pick up all the bricks and make the box and the building instructions, but as soon as it arrives I´ll post pictures.
It was sort of a test run for me, to see if this Lego Design by me stuff really works, because it would be great fun to build more Droids things there (think about a great Heep or so!!)

Re: Doodnik's Cafe
How many episodes of SW: Droids does Doodnik's Cafe appear in?

Re: Doodnik's Cafe
It only appears in episode 5, but I think it's a pretty cool spot (as you can probably tell by the forums header and the new home page header!) I hope that someday Tyne's Horky and Doodnik's Cafe will find it's way back into some modern Star Wars material. One visit just wasn't enough!
Re: Doodnik's Cafe
I hear ya. That's what I think about Kleb Zellock, too (as he appeared only in the same episode). I'd love to see a live-action representation of Kleb in the forth-coming live-action SW TV series (as it would take place in the years between Ep3 and Ep4). I heard a rumor somewhere that some Droids characters will show up.
"The Lost Prince" is the first episode I ever remember seeing, as part of The Pirates and the Prince video back in the day. I'm sure that the four-armed cook in Doodnik's was the inspiration for Dexter Jettster in Attack of the Clones. Either that or only four-armed species need apply for fry cook opportunities in the SW universe.

I'd love to see the Clone Wars series or the live action series travel to planets seen in Droids - Endor would be cool too, but I doubt we'll see Ewoks again. As for that rumor, there was an article that mentioned Thall Joben being in the live action series, I dont know if Lucasfilm ever commented on it though...

Re: Doodnik's Cafe
It'd be cool to find out what Jedi left the lightsaber for Thall to find. I'm looking forward to the live-action show; the very fact that it takes place in the "dark times" will make it really interesting. This period, unlike that of the Clone Wars, spans a lot of time. A lot of time to tell some hopefully great stories.
I always thought it'd be cool if they had a Jedi character travelling the galaxy like a SW version of Kwai Chang Caine, dispencing wisdom and righteous fight scenes while staying one step ahead of the Empire.

Its funny that you mention that, I recently picked up a Thall Joben in a trade, and when I put him on display I thought he'd look good with a vintage saber (gotta track one down). I also thought to myself what an interesting story that could be - what Jedi left their saber behind? An Order 66 survivor that gave up the Jedi Order after the fall of the Republic?

Re: Doodnik's Cafe
I also really enjoyed Doodnik's Cafe in Droids, even though it only appeared in one episode. I remember watching this episode back in the day when it was originally broadcast, and it was nice to see Sy Snootles, Droopy McCool, and Max Rebo playing there - it was a nice nod to ROTJ.
I watched this again recently and I agree that the four-armed cook is probably what inspired Dexter in AOTC. I liked the scene in Droids when he threw Threepio & Artoo out into the street for being disruptive - LOL.
Also agree that the night scene of this Cafe w/the neon-lit sign was the perfect theme for this forum - very nice
